It has been a week of many things but it has also been a week of sushi. A friend told me about a new takeaway place (see above) that opened opposite the plaza de font (the main plaza) and when I was walking on Sunday with my flatmate we stumbled across it. Feeling like a treat I bought some but hmm...it was a bit pricey for what I was given. 8 euros for some edamame beans and some mini California rolls (I might have been happier if they'd been a little bigger). Still, if I need a quick sushi fix I now know that one is close to hand.
A friend at work then suddenly caught the sushi fever and asked me if I wanted to go out for dinner on Friday night. Of course, there was this sushi place I'd tried but I'd also heard good things about a place called Sapporo from my business student. I managed to locate the small but cosy restaurant and organised for us to go.
It turned out to be an interesting mix of people and a really lovely evening. My friend and her boyfriend, two other good friends and a new couple who had recently moved to Tarragona from Valencia joined us - the woman being my friend's student.
This term I am really keen to expand my social circle so it was nice to meet new people and we've been talking about making dinner a regular once a month thing now and we might all go and try out a salsa class together too.
Anyway Sapporo was great. Again not amazingly cheap - but sushi never is really - but it was very delicious and hit the spot perfectly. Plus the presentation was cool as you can see from the sushi ship above!
There isn't much in way of reviews for Sapporo online except one in Spanish so I'm hoping next time someone googles it they might find this mention. I should probably pop one up on tripadvisor or something...
Anyway...the weekend is here and it is my mother's birthday and also a friend's birthday and there is lots to be getting on with. I'll be back very soon with stories I'm sure. Have a great weekend! xxx
